Skaggs Destroys Course Record at Hardrock
Silverton, CO, July 12. Kyle Skaggs of Glenwood, New Mexico destroyed the both the field and the course record, winning the 2008 Hardrock 100 by more than 6 hours in a time of 23:23:30.
Skaggs, 23, broke Scott Jurek's 2007 record by nearly 3 hours. Scott Jaime of Highlands Ranch, Colorado finished second in 29:50:53 and 1998 winner Ricky Denesik of Telluride, Colorado
finished third.
Diana Finkel, 36, of South Fork, Colorado won the women's race in 31:09:40, and finished sixth overall. Five-time winner Betsy Kalmeyer of Steamboat Springs, Colorado finished in second
place in 33:25:58. Betsy Nye of Tahoe City, California, the 2003 winner, passed Kimberly Holak of Duluth, Minnesota with a little over a mile remaining for third place.
